Recommended VR devices

This page explains VR devices supported by Virtual Cast.

Upon choosing a VR device

It would be best to try all devices.
When trying out, pay attention to the differences in the field of view, how wide the tracking works when moving your arms, etc.

The choice may depend on your budget and space available to use.
Take the information on this page as a mere opinion when choosing a device.

WindowsMR (HP + other manufactures)

Windows Mixed Reality is a mixed reality platform developed by Microsoft.
Supported devices are being developed by various manufacturers.

Characteristics of WindowsMR in Virtual Cast

  • WindowsMR is produced by various manufactures and all of them is compatible.
  • All the connection required is binded into a single cable (which separates into a USB and a display cable at one end), so it is effortless to set up.
  • Some headsets have a flip-up mechanism that allows you to quickly put on and remove the HMD. This feature is very useful when debugging VCI.
  • Some headsets do not have a microphone. If this is the case, you must prepare it separately.
  • It looses tracking when you swing your hands to your sides and back.
